How exterior painting proceeds
- On-site inspection: paint condition, rot damage, seams and flashings.
- Washing: mould wash and rinsing, then drying before the next step.
- Preparation: scraping and brushing off loose paint, priming bare wood.
- Top coat: usually two coats, with drying time in between.
- Inspection: we go through the facade together and agree on any finishing touches.
Good to know before you order
The exterior painting season is in practice May to September: the surface must be dry and the temperature usually above +5 °C, also at night. If the week is rainy, the work is postponed, because damp wood should not be painted. It pays to paint before the old paint peels extensively, since the preparation is then lighter and the price lower. A new paint does not suit every old paint type, so at the site visit we tell you which paint suits your surface, for example from the Tikkurila or Teknos ranges.
Price
We give a fixed price before work starts. The site visit is free and carries no obligation. The price depends on the facade area, the number of storeys and need for scaffolding, the condition of the old paint and the paint type chosen.
