Old and new side by side

Vantaa has two kinds of home, and often they sit on opposite sides of the same street. Myyrmäki, Martinlaakso, Korso and Hakunila have many terraced and detached houses from the 1970s–1990s: there the job starts from the base — removing old wallpaper, levelling walls, dealing with yellowed kitchen paint and a peeling facade. Kivistö, Aviapolis and the new blocks of Tikkurila, on the other hand, are full of new apartments where no preparation is needed but neatness decides everything: straight edges, an accent wall, the first repaint after the developer. We do both, and at the site visit it is immediately clear which story is yours.
